Cologne City Walking Tour
We started our day in Cologne with a walking tour that immersed us in the city's rich history. As we strolled through the charming streets, we learned about Cologne's beautiful architecture and its significant role during WWII. The highlight was visiting the magnificent Cologne Cathedral, a stunning example of Gothic architecture. The Cathedral's intricate gargoyles, each with its unique design, added to its mystical allure. This tour gave us a deep appreciation for Cologne's past and its enduring beauty.

No trip to Cologne is complete without visiting the Cologne Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Despite enduring fourteen bomb hits during World War II, this Gothic masterpiece stands tall as a symbol of resilience and faith. Inside, you can marvel at the Shrine of the Three Kings and the breathtaking stained-glass windows. If you are up to it, Climb the 533 steps to the top of the south tower for breathtaking views of the city and the Rhine River.
Stroll along the picturesque Old Town
Cologne's Old Town is a charming area filled with narrow, cobblestone streets, historic buildings, and vibrant squares. try a traditional pastry or savory meal in one of the restaurants along the way.

Kölsch is a unique beer style native to Cologne, characterized by its light, crisp flavor and brewed following the Kölsch Konvention, which dictates it must be brewed within 50 kilometers of Cologne. Visiting traditional breweries and beer halls like Früh, Gaffel, and Päffgen was such a fun experience! We tasted this refreshing beer served in small, cylindrical glasses called "Stangen." The lively atmosphere was contagious, and we learned about the rich brewing traditions that make Kölsch an integral part of Cologne's cultural heritage.
Visit the colorful houses at Fischmarkt, and enjoy a meal or drink at one of the many traditional pubs and restaurants.
